Angelique Monaghan

Angelique Monaghan is a self taught artist who lives in the Kapiti Coast with her three children and dog. She discovered a passion for art at a young age and started exhibiting from 17 years as part of a group show in a Christchurch Gallery. Her works range from emotive portraits and bold abstract figure studies to eerie contemporary surrealism, mingled in with a recent foray into a more nature themed series. She is also a fan of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, who we happen to be quite familiar with here at StickyTiki!

Angelique recently painted this amazing portrait of Frida Kahlo, so of course we thought this would make a great collaboration piece. The art dot is available in a range of sizes, so there will be one to fit your space. It would make a great gift for fans of the artist.

Angelique is often working on a new painting, and you can keep up with all her latest works by following her Facebook page. If you'd like to purchase an original painting or a print of her artwork, then check out her Felt shop.

Scribblelicious

Shireen Myers is the avid doodler behind Scribblelicious and our second artist collaboration. She has a range of prints, greeting cards and Christmas decorations which she sells at local markets. She is also stocked at Pay it Forward, a Designer Co-op store in Christchurch, along with StickyTiki and other local designers.

Shireen has created three designs for us, all with her trademark attention to detail. The Tui dot wall decal is is the first in the range and easy to get lost in. It is available in four sizes, so there is one to suit any spot in your house. The large ones look great above a mantelpiece, and the smaller ones would look lovely in a smaller space, or even on the front of your fridge. Wherever you choose, it will add a beautiful New Zealand touch to your home.

Next in the range is a set of three feathers which can be arranged in many ways. Floating down the wall, displayed in a fan or all in a row are just some of the ways you can choose – and you can mix it up whenever you fancy. The feather wall decal sets are available in three different sizes, and would look lovely in a bedroom or nursery.

The final design in the range from Scribblelicious is a set of four Arrow wall decals with finely detailed feathers. This is another versatile set, which can be displayed many ways. They can be flying up or down, or arranged all pointing in the same direction. These add a slight masculine feel to a room, and are available in two different sizes.

If you would like to see more of Shireen's work, you can pop in store to Pay it Forward at 49 Nancy Ave, Mairehau in Christchurch, or follow her Scribblelicious Facebook page.

Drawer Full of Giants

Tania Hassounia, an illustrator, solopreneur and founder of Drawer Full of Giants, is the first illustrator we teamed up with as part of our artist collaboration project. Tania is always brimming with ideas and likes working with other creatives. Her illustrations are inspired by yesteryear and nature – thanks to a childhood of doodling on lazy summer days of kiwiana camping, along with her father’s avid interest in days gone by.

Vintage Correspondence Collection

Tania has designed three wall decal collections for StickyTiki, with the first being inspired by the detailing of everyday items from 19th century England. This collection includes a Vintage Correspondence Mini Mural with all of the items, and two smaller StickyTiny sized sets, themed around a Vintage Postcard and Vintage Timepieces. They would look great in that little spot where you might journal or write letters, a little touch to add some vintage charm.

Historic Sailing Ships

The next range is inspired by historic coins and stamps while meandering around a maritime museum one stormy day. The Historic Sailing Ships Mini Mural wall decal would be perfect for the seafaring child wanting adventure on the high seas. There are also two smaller StickyTiny sets, European Sailing Ships and Viking Sailing Ships. They would look good adorning a child's bedroom, or perhaps on the bathroom walls to add a nautical touch.

1950s inspired Dress up Dolls

Remember the paper dress up dolls from your childhood? Tania has designed a version made from our wall decal fabric, which can be put on the wall and reused over and over again. Abby comes with four outfits; a Sailor outfit, traditional Maori costume, Bedtime outfit and Party Dress. Abby is attired in a pretty underwear set, and is based on a typical eight year old girl. The doll come in different configurations; doll and all outfits, doll with one outfit as well as extra outfits, so you can start with the set, or add to it as you go.

Tania keeps busy doing freelance illustration jobs and working on her own projects, the latest being a children's Scripture Colouring book. Get in touch with Tania if you would like one, her contact details can be found on her website.
